The Joint STARC Readiness Center consists of a 132,000-SF primary facility and 9,000 SF of unheated storage located on the Camp Rapid campus of the South Dakota Army National Guard in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The Readiness Center will accommodate the Headquarters State Area Command, the State Area Command Selective Service, the SDARNG Recruiting & Retention Command, the SDARNG Medical Command, and the 216th Engineer Detachment. It will also serve as the State Headquarters for the South Dakota Air National Guard.
The facility is a three-story masonry facility with full basement, and is being designed to meet the latest Military Security Engineering requirements as well as LEED certification. Albertson Engineering is the structural engineer consultant for all portions of the project.

Albertson Engineering Inc. is a member of a design-build team that also includes Dean Kurtz Construction and Leo A. Daly Architects. Our team is responsible for the design and construction of a new squadron operations facility at Ellsworth Air Force Base.
The design of this project was on a fast track. The design incorporates extensive anti-terrorism provisions, including designing for blast loading. The project also accommodates extensive security requirements and conforms to numerous military and commercial design standards.
New base housing at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Nine different housing types, all are owned by the U.S. Air Force. Designs were in accordance with owners requirements of using simplified residential codes and extensive geotechnical investigations were performed prior to design.
