About The Project
The Ascent Innovation Campus is a business incubator that includes additional space for collaboration and events. The building is located near theSchool of Mines campus and will certainly become a focal point for down-town Rapid City.The Ascent Innovation Campus has several unique exterior features, such as the curved layout assembly/event space and the striking iridescent tiles that catch the light. Inside, many areas of the main structure remain visible throughout the building. The Campus also capitalizes on its many outstanding views of the city and the Black HillsThe project included several unique challenges, including driven-pile foundations, screen walls, large wind banners, roof-top patios, and elements that allow accommodating a large variety of possible tenants. Albertson Engineering, Inc. was responsible for all structural engineering design services for the Ascent Innovation Campus.
